Prepare To Be A Millionaire Featured on CBS 11 News in Dallas/Fort Worth

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day in Texas. First of all it snowed -- yes, you "read" me right -- snow in Texas! And not just a light "dusting" either, we had the big fluffy cotton ball type snow that actually stuck to the ground. Needless to say, this is very unusual, so the local news was on all day long keeping all of us southern, sunshine lovin' folk, abreast of the winter storm situation.

As I was watching the latest winter update, the news station ran a promo for a special feature they were going to run on the evening news about self-made millionaires. The promo said that self-made millionaires tell how they made their millions. Of course, being in the business that I'm in, I was very interested to see their feature and I called some of the Millionaire Blueprints staff members and told them about the feature so we could all watch it.

At 10:00 pm I sat down to watch the news. After about 20 minutes of storm related news and incidents, the self-made millionaire piece aired. The piece started out highlighting Paula Lambert, CEO of the Mozzerella Company in Dallas and I thought, "Wow, she was featured in our book." Then, I saw something that almost made my heart stop. They flashed to our book, Prepare To Be A Millionaire. It was at that moment I realized, the special feature that CBS 11 News had been promoting all day, was for our book. I'm not sure why, but it was very surreal to see our book on the news. It was a pleasant surprise and an amazing moment that I will never forget.

The CBS 11 News feature also highlighted Kevin Summers, CEO of Pallet Supply of America (who is also featured in Prepare To Be A MIllionaire) and they did a fantastic job outlining what the book is all about.

Prepare To Be A Millionaire #1 in Amazon.com's Vocational Guidance category

Here we go again!

After CBS 11 News in Dallas/Fort Worth ran a special feature about our book on the 10:00 news last night our numbers having been steadily dropping on Amazon.com. (Remember, dropping is good)

Today we have taken the number #1 spot in the Vocational Guidance category on Amazon.com.

Yeehaw!!

Wow! What a day we've had.

We've been watching the Amazon.com sales rank all day long. At 3:00 we were at #259! Then, at 4:00 we jumped again to #213. At 5:00 we were at #176 and now at 6:00 Prepare To Be A Millionaire has jumped again to #142, but this time we also took over the #1 Best Seller spot in Amazon.com's Entrepreneurship category.

To say we are excited ... is definately an understatement. We are thrilled beyond belief.

The best part about all of this though, is that the people that bought Prepare To Be A Millionaire on Amazon.com today have purchased a valuable tool that will help them on their own journey to becoming a millionaire.

Prepare To Be A Millionaire And Amanda Kennedy In The News

Part 2 of a five-part serialisation featuring Amanda Kennedy was published on February 19, 2008 by the Times Online. Kennedy owns Sassybax Bras, a company that sells women's lingerie products, and she is also one of the 43 millionaires featured in Prepare To Be A Millionaire. In her story, she explains how a simple idea has found success in the lingerie business.

The Times Online featured Yanik Silver in Part 1 of its series and will also feature 3 other self-made millionaires from Prepare To Be A Millionaire as part of their five-part serialisation.

Prepare To Be A Millionaire #1 in Amazon.com's New Business Enterprises Category

Since the official launch of Prepare To Be A Millionaire on February 2nd the entire Millionaire Blueprints staff has become obsessed with watching the Amazon.com sales rank. Since there is really no way for authors -- or employees of authors -- to see exactly how many books they are selling we rely on the Amazon.com sales rank as an indicator. (At least none that I am aware of, if you know of another way to monitor sales please post it.)

It started out as just a once a day thing for us. Now, every hour on the hour (that's how often Amazon.com updates the sales rank) I check the new rank posting. I should probably seek out some kind of professional help for this addiction, but it is just so darn exciting.

Every time I look at the sales rank I cover my eyes, hold my breath, then take a real quick look. At home my children think that I have completely lost my mind, but have started to quickly ask, "Did the number drop again?" (Dropping numbers are good. That means we are moving up in the rank.)

Every time the number drops I immediately call Kimberly (she's been traveling a lot to promote the book) and she screams like a young school girl or gives me a big ole' Texas "Yeehaw!!!!!" But, It is really most fun when the entire Millionaire Blueprints staff is crowded around one computer monitor and the number drops. You hear a lot of screaming, followed by, "Oh my God!," and "Can you believe this?," or "This is so amazing." And, yes we have occasionally had some "happy dancing" going on. (It is so awesome to work with people that are so passionate about what they do. I can honestly say we have an incredible team of people at Millionaire Blueprints.)

Today was very exciting for all of us. This morning, at 7:00 AM, we were at #703 - our lowest sales rank since the launch - so, I immediately "texted" the news to everyone. Then, at 11:00 AM we jumped up to the number #1 best seller spot in Amazon.com's New Business Enterprise category. I'm sure you can imagine the staff's reaction to this one. Wow!

We can't wait to see what this afternoon brings! I'll keep you posted.
